CLINIC RECOGNIZES L.A. PRO BONO ATTORNEY
In the last year, Ana Avila-Cote has helped
provide pro bono representation in five asylum
cases of detained adults and children.  In
addition to taking her own pro bono cases, Ana
works together with law students from UCLA’s
Immigration Law Society Asylum Project to help
identify attorneys who would be willing to work
together with students on asylum cases.  Ana
serves as a mentor to both pro bono attorneys,
many of whom have no immigration experience,
and law students who work on cases referred
to her through CLINIC’s Los Angeles detention
program.

Just as USCIS proposes to raise the fees
on citizenship and naturalization
applications, CLINIC releases a plan that
calls for, among other things,
