Division of Training & Technical Support

CLINIC's Training and Technical Support
Division has two prongs. The first prong
involves "national attorneys" delivering
legal expertise to a network of over
1,000 non-profit legal immigration
providers through phone consultations,
e-mail list serve, one- and two-day
training, and immigration manuals,
books, and newsletter articles.

These services support the division's
goal to expand the availability of
professional, low-cost immigration
services through community-based legal programs.

The second prong involves "field attorneys" in five locations who deliver individualized
support to member agency immigration programs in their regions. Field attorneys talk
and meet regularly with regional immigration program staff on specific cases, case
management systems, community outreach, partnerships and funding opportunities.

Its success in delivering legal support to this expanding network has made this division
widely recognized as the most productive legal support group in the field.

CLINIC believes strongly that member
agencies providing immigration services
should receive regular training.  Immigration
law is a complex area, complicated by
regular statutory and regulatory overhauls.
