Ethical Considerations for Affirmative Immigration Practice

March 13, 2024 | 2-3:30 p.m. ET | CA MCLE: 1.5 (Legal Ethics)

Extensive Processing backlogs combined with high-volume and evolving law and policy guidelines have significantly altered the methods of modern practice before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). We encourage you to join us as we analyze the ethical implications of high-volume practice, innovative service delivery models, and other common challenges facing practitioners.

During the webinar, presenters will explain the sources of ethics rules and their application to attorneys and accredited representatives. Presenters will also address common practice scenarios and their implications on our ethical responsibilities, including:

  • Establishing the representative-client relationship and limiting scope;
  • Termination of the representative-client relationship, including the duties of the organization and the individual when a practitioner resigns;
  • Providing competent representation;
  • Maintaining confidentiality; and,
  • Ethical duties of supervisors.

The webinar recording will not be provided so be sure to join us live.
