Corrie Hansen is a Senior Attorney on the legal Training and Technical Assistance team. She began her career as an immigration attorney in 2015, when she helped to establish an immigration legal program at a San Diego non-profit organization. She then practiced a boutique immigration law firm in Portland, Oregon, where she honed her removal defense skills. While in Portland, she served as the AILA Oregon Chapter’s Co-Advocacy Liaison, a role that allowed her to work with law enforcement agencies and advocacy groups to craft a U visa certification legislative concept and later testify before the Oregon House and Senate committees to help advance Oregon’s first U visa law enforcement certification bill. She then served as lead immigration attorney for the Legal Aid Society of San Diego where she focused on removal defense and complex affirmative immigration cases.
Hansen attended law school at the University of San Diego School of Law, where she co-founded the USD Immigration Justice Legal Society. She is admitted to practice law in California and before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
