Director of Advancement

Sommers Neuman is CLINIC’s Director of Advancement, overseeing all aspects of development, including major gifts, annual campaigns and grants. She supervises the three-person Advancement team. Prior to joining CLINIC, Sommers Neuman served as the first executive director for the Coalition for Our Immigrant Neighbors, or COIN, a coalition of more than 130 organizations dedicated to pro bono legal services, mental health services and best practices for those serving immigrants in central Indiana. COIN was awarded the AILA Indiana Chapter Pro Bono Champion award in 2021.

Sommers Neuman has experience in grant writing; planned and workplace giving; management; and corporate and immigration law. She received a juris doctor from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in French from Vanderbilt University. She is a member of the Indiana and Illinois state bars.

Sommers Neuman led two teams of lawyers and interpreters to the border to provide pro bono legal services through the Dilley Pro Bono Project in 2019 and 2020.
