On Dec. 21, 2020, CLINIC submitted comments opposing a proposed rule which would eliminate the ability of noncitizens under orders of supervision to file for employment authorization documents, or EADs. The rule would prevent families released from detention from obtaining vital employment authorization, punish stateless people who cannot be removed, and prevent those who do qualify for this category of EAD from renewing it if they are unemployed or their employer does not use E-Verify.
