Our Asylum System at Grave Risk: What You Can Do
Video file
About This Recording
On June 15, 2020, the administration issued an interim rule attempting to eliminate asylum for the most vulnerable of asylum seekers. This massive rule will essentially abolish the asylum system in violation of international and domestic law. The rule would violate asylum seekers’ due process rights, heighten the credible fear standard for most, foreclose asylum for those fleeing gender- and gang-based violence, and give asylum adjudicators unfettered discretion to deny asylum applications. Join CLINIC for a webinar to discuss how we can work together to fight back against this rule intended to exclude otherwise eligible asylum seekers from protection. Presenters will also discuss ways to engage in the comment process, and how you and your organization can submit a comment.
All comments to this regulation must be submitted by July 15, 2020, so please join us to find out how you can help!
