Representing Afghans in Removal Proceedings

Oct. 25, 2023 | 2-3:30 p.m. ET | CA MCLE: 1.5

In the past year, Afghans have increasingly made the arduous journey to seek protection in the United States. In this free webinar, CLINIC staff, in collaboration with Human Rights First, will discuss the burgeoning trend of Afghans arriving in the United States at the southern border, including the current apprehension and detention practices by the Department of Homeland Security. This webinar will also provide an overview of representing Afghans in removal proceedings, address common legal challenges this population faces, and explore how legal service providers can increase their capacity to assist Afghans in removal proceedings.

A recorded version of this webinar will be posted on CLINIC's website here.
